A graphic designer by training, a photographer by passion, a writer by love and a traveler by spirit. This is the Fat Man. This is me.
My name is Ryno. It is a pleasure to e-meet you, digi-handshake, and simply just an honour to have you read this. I have had a very diverse journey in life – from trying to set up camp in Chile to returning to my mother land to water the grass here instead. I have a vast variety of interests but the biggest is design, drinking coffee and being on the long road – passions that I want to share with all of you.
I have been fortunate enough in my life to have had the opportunity to travel and I have realised that being a tourist begins in your own country. I believe South Africa and what I have seen of greater Africa has a lot to offer her people and we should aspire to be tourists in our own country before we spend our money leaving it.
I was diagnosed as bipolar in 2015 after many years of struggling with my mental health. Yes, I am still actively battling the beast in my head, but I am not going to allow it to become me and my life. Neither will I accept that others’ opinion of my mental health should limit how I live my life. The disease will win the moment I give up the fight.

You do not always need the most expensive equipment to make something beautiful and noteworthy. I aim to prove that even with a basic camera you can take gorgeous memories! For trips and specific cases, I will be listing the equipment used for that event in the post itself, so keep your eyes open for that.
"The ultimate success of this blog would be a cross continent road trip to explore Africa up close and personal. Experiencing each culture, giving them air time and showcasing the best of this continent."
